Planning an October birthday ad in Japan
A birthday ad — senil ad (생일광고) in Korean, 応援広告 (ouen koukoku) in Japanese — is a fan-funded advertisement placed on a real station poster or digital screen. The practice started in Korea and is now well established in Japan, and fans living abroad can book Tokyo placements directly, in English.
October is easier to book than September because the dates are spread across the whole month rather than clustered. The exceptions are the October 3–8 run and Giselle's October 30, which competes with Halloween-period retail advertising for the same inventory.
